CIRMS Student Travel Grant
In order to foster the development of young scientists and technologists in the various aspects of ionizing radiation, during 1999 CIRMS developed a Student Awards program, being guided by then First Vice-President George Xu.
Next year’s annual meeting will focus on the -Topic to be announced and will be held at NIST conference 2012.
Awardees are expected to present a poster paper and deliver a brief oral presentation on their research efforts. These presentations will be included in the meeting summary as posted on the CIRMS web site.
Travel grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to at least four students to defray their expenses in order to attend the 20th annual CIRMS meeting at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Winners will also receive one year’s complimentary membership in CIRMS
Topic Report Criteria: TBA
- Submit a type written abstract of 600 to 1000 words on the research project to be presented at the CIRMS meeting by September 2012. The abstract must include the project’s objectives, methods and results.
- Indicate how this project is related to the CIRMS mission and to its main areas of scientific and technical interest and to your career goals. List information on any collaborators.
- Have a faculty advisor sign and verify your efforts in this research area and your academic standing.
Reports are to be submitted in word document form and attached along with your faculty advisors form signed to the online grant application form. You may scan and attach it as a pdf.
The grant application is available online this year. You will need to print out the Advisors Information Form and have your advisor sign this document.
The deadline for application submittal is September 2012.
The CIRMS Executive Committee and CIRMS Caswell Award winners will review the applications and the winners will be announced in September, 2012.
